LaSalle Peru High School provides services and interventions to LP students identified as experiencing difficulty academically due to other issues, such as alcohol or drugs, personal and peer problems, family and health issues.  Students are connected to existing services so they can overcome the problem and be successful in school.

Students are identified by teachers, parents, administrators, and students and referred to the guidance counselor and then the Intervention Specialist for additional services if deemed appropriate.  The Student Interventionist is a clinical social worker and certified school social worker. Once a referral is received, information is gathered about the student so a plan of action and goals are created.  The student will be linked to the appropriate services in order to work toward more success in the school environemnt.  These services may include, but are not limited to, counseling, support groups, mentoring, tutoring, and community based referrals.
